Magnolia Park: Houston’s First Barrio

Saturday, October 25, 2025

Hidalgo Park, 7000 Avenue Q, Houston, TX 77011

Parade: 9 AM | Festival: 10 AM - 4 PM

For the 12th year, neighbors, families, and community leaders are coming together to bring the Magnolia Park Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival back to the historic Hidalgo Park. This beloved annual tradition not only celebrates the rich cultural legacy of the neighborhood but also honors the memories of those who came before us. Rooted in indigenous customs and blended with Catholic influences, Día de los Muertos is a joyful celebration of life, remembrance, and family. Instead of mourning in sorrow for those that we’ve lost, we celebrate their memory with colorful ofrendas/altars adorned with marigolds, candles, photos, and the favorite foods of departed loved ones.
